Shannie + Craig- March 21st

I had to share these adorable beach pictures as a preview to Shannie's ceremony and reception pictures. Shannie, Craig, their adorable daughter Isabella, Shannie's precious mother Mrs. Phillips, and family and friends went down to Destin this past weekend to celebrate the love of this couple. I had a share these preview pictures! Can't wait to see more and then reception pictures. Their reception is taking place at University Club in April 11th to celebrate with family and friends who couldn't make the trip to Destin for the ceremony. A Delightful Vendor: Hillsboro Chocolates

I had the pleasure of visiting a small chocolate shop off of Old Hillsboro Road in Franklin and sample some delicious chocolates that are created from scratch by Hillsboro Chocolates. What I love about this company is that they use Pick Tennessee products, meaning that all of their ingredients are home grown right here in Tennessee. For special events they have the ability to order a large quantity of a certain chocolate for your guests favor or you can create a custom candy buffet of chocolates. Their chocolates are priced per individual piece and they can also create custom favor boxes for individual favors. Here are some pictures of their beautifully created, and wonderful tasting, chocolates! Call Jessica at Hillsboro Chocolates to place your order andthey will also be featuring their desserts at the Nashville LIfestyles Bridal Show next weekend as well.

 

The wedding cakes are delicious in their dark and white chocolate and come filled with a gnache if desired.

 

These chocolates would be adorable in a customized box with your monogram at each place setting.

 

I loved these chocolate shot glasses! They can come filled, or unfilled and you could put milk in them for dessert with cookies, champagne, or a complimentary liquor for your bar.

I subscribe to Wedding Chicks Blog, which if you're not familiar with it or subscribe to it, you should. Adorable stuff! They have this fun company that they found through one of my other favorite websites, Etsy, named Phunk Lab.

Wedding Photography. When describing your wedding, explain primarily how your wedding

portrays you as a couple. All entries must be received by March 31. Email your entries to

Who Qualifies:
Your wedding must take place between April 15, 2009 and July 31, 2009. Unfortunately some

of these dates are already booked. The dates that do not qualify during this time period

are: April 18; May 6 & 30; June 6, 14, & 27; July 11 & 12

 

Who Will Win?
There really isn't any science behind it. We are just going to choose our favorite submission. We

may even get some help from a friend or two. We are looking for a fun, touching, and creative

story about you and your wedding. The more creative your photo and story are, the better the

chance you have to win.

 

Additional Rules:
All entrants must follow all rules included in this section as well as the above sections.
The wedding must take place within 120 miles of Nashville, TN.
You cannot currently have a contract with a wedding photographer.
You cannot break a contract with a wedding photographer to enter this contest.
You cannot already have a wedding contract with Dove Wedding Photography.
Full Event Coverage is not to exceed 10 hours.
Winner must be willing to sign a contract and model release with Dove Wedding Photography for the amount of $1.09.

Bridal Portraits- Pros and Cons

Every bride comes to the dilemma of to take or not to take a bridal portrait. Many photographers now are offering bridal portraits as a part of their packages, whether you choose to take your portrait before or after your wedding. The after wedding portrait's have recently been given the name of "Trash the Dress", which is a name that scares me! :) So many times bride's think that they can have a couple shots taken on the day of, and you certainly can, but sometimes time runs out or you don't get to be as creative as you want to with your surroundings. I always encourage brides to have a session to show off their beauty and the dress in its full glory. And we know that mom's want that 16x20 to hang over the fireplace! :) Some of the pros and cons that I see with taking a bridal shot include:

Pros:

• Gives you an opportunity to have your hair and makeup trial done before the wedding, and putting that money to good use. You can see how you like your makeup and hair in the pictures and if you want to make any changes for wedding day.
• You get to put on your dress one more time! And making sure that all alterations made fit you to a "T".
• This also gives you a chance to put all of your attire together, veil, headpiece, jewelry, shoes, etc. to make sure that you love the look.
• You can have a sample bouquet ordered for your pictures to see and make any changes to as well.
• This is an opportunity for creativity on both yours, and your photographers, part to get some fun, romantic, and sexy shots of you in your pure white wedding dress. Nothing beats having beautiful artistic, and traditional, shots of you on your own dressed to the "nine's".
• Working with your photographer for several hours at a time will allow him/her to see your personality, what is your best light, and get to you know you before spending even more hours with you on the big day.

Cons:

• If in the process, you get creative, and your dress gets dirty, you may need to have it cleaned which is an additional cost.
• Some are more pressured by time because of  their dress delivery and/or wedding date. Do plan well in advance to avoid this if able.

In my opinion, the pros definitely outweigh the cons, and as a past bride, I wish I would have taken the opportunity to do one myself. Living and learning, and passing this knowledge on to new or future brides! Here are some of my favorite bridal portraits over the last year from some of my favorite brides!
