inspiration: simplicity

I've found that the majority of wedding coverage one can find online tends to fit a certain mold (of propagating this, I'm guilty as well).  Everything tends to be floral-centric, vintage-y... things that are overtly "pretty" and "delicate" and "lovely" and feminine. With this week's board, I wanted to evoke something a little different, a little simpler and more relaxed. Still chic, but subdued. Let me know your thoughts!

Palest colors tend to strike my fancy the most (ballet pink, buttercream yellow, mint green, raspberry sorbet, cream, pale blue). Here's a lovely assortment of rose petal and cotton candy hues!

I read a lot that grey can't or shouldn't be used alone in wedding color schemes, but I have to beg to differ. There are so many shades, from pewter to dove to charcoal to silver, that can be layered with whites and creams to make a wedding so very pretty.

So the love shoot at StyleMePretty has visions of orange groves and tea roses and antique silverware and buttery leather and sunshine dancing in my head. While I'm tempted to curse away the winter and close my eyes 'til it's July, at least I can find solace in the peachy pinks of February.

Friday find: PomPom's

I love finding new and fun ways of adding decor to a design, and one of my new favorites is the PomPom. I have seen these adorable accents via Martha Stewart, and one designer has begun an Etsy shop showing off her baubles. There are so many different colors to add that punch to your ceremony or reception. You could incorporate them into your ceremony altar decor (if you're in the right location), hang these fun accents over your cake table, decorate your candy or dessert buffet with them, or hang them over the dancefloor as an alternative to chinese lanterns. Here are some of the many beautiful colors and check out the Etsy shop for PomLove here.

Pricing begins around $5.00 a piece and goes up from there with groupings and packages to purchase.
